Every child deserves a childhood where they can play, learn, grow, and thrive. 90% of brain development occurs before age five, making quality early learning opportunities one of the most powerful investments in both children's futures and society at large: ECD programs can generate returns of $7 to $17 for every $1 invested. In 2015, BRAC partnered with the LEGO Foundation to develop the Play Lab model—a low-cost, play-based preschool that delivers learning opportunities in humanitarian extreme poverty contexts—and research shows it works. By 2030, BRAC's goal is to raise $150 million to reach 1.5 million children living in crisis and poverty with quality learning and development opportunities. Building on 10 years of collaboration, BRAC and the LEGO Foundation recently took a major step toward that ambition, launching a five-year, $50 million partnership to reach 400,000 children with joyful learning experiences.

700 million people live in extreme poverty, and we know what works to end it: the most widely adopted, evidence-backed solution to poverty alleviation, Graduation. BRAC’s flagship Graduation approach combines livelihoods promotion, financial inclusion, social protection, and social empowerment to permanently break the cycle of poverty. The wealth of evidence on the long-term impacts of Graduation has influenced widespread adoption, including among 15 governments in Latin America, Africa, and Asia. BRAC is working with governments and partners such as The Audacious Project to scale Graduation programs and integrate them into existing systems in Ethiopia, India, Indonesia, the Philippines, Rwanda, and South Africa. According to a 2025 World Bank Partnership for Economic Inclusion survey, more than 173 Graduation programs worldwide have collectively reached 6.7 million households. BRAC has reached more than one-third of them, serving over 2.3 million families directly. Now, we aim to build a broader coalition of support to continue to scale this impactful approach and enable 21 more million families to escape the poverty trap.

Climate change is undermining progress on poverty reduction, gender equality, and food security. We’re making a big bet to change that. For far too long, however, efforts to adapt to the impacts of climate change have been piecemeal, fragmented, and incremental. Rarely have “big bets” or “moonshots” been made with the view of helping people, particularly women, adapt to climate change—until now. BRAC’s goal is to help two million smallholder farmers and their households—nine million people in total—create resilient food systems through a cost-effective, scalable model. No single funder or government can meet this moment alone. BRAC is building a broad coalition of strategic partners including governments, private sector, and philanthropy to ensure that all investments made are designed for long-term sustainability.

More than half the world’s population lack full access to essential health services. Our more than 100,000 community health workers are changing that. BRAC’s model of integrated, community-driven primary healthcare brings health services and information directly to the doorsteps of people living in poverty. Women are trained as community health workers in their own communities, traveling door-to-door to reach people who cannot access formal doctors or hospitals. They provide basic preventative and curative care, diagnosing and referring patients with complications, with focuses on maternal and child health, family planning, nutrition promotion, malaria prevention, tuberculosis treatment, and the prevention of non-communicable diseases. Our network of community health workers is supported by specialists, including paramedics, midwives and doctors, as well as a range of facilities such as maternity clinics and prosthetic centers. This comprehensive approach ensures that essential health services are accessible to those who need them most.
