What We Do

BRAC takes a holistic approach to ending poverty with diverse interventions that range from microfinance to education, healthcare to gender justice and empowerment, to give people the tools they need to take control of their own lives.

Who We Are

BRAC started as a relief organization in 1972 and takes a business approach to ending poverty.

BRAC takes solutions born in Bangladesh that have been proven to effectively tackle poverty and adapts and implements them on a global scale. Our programs reach millions in Bangladesh, Afghanistan, Liberia, Myanmar, Nepal, Pakistan, the Philippines, Sierra Leone, South Sudan, Tanzania, and Uganda.
